Could you be interested in developing a career within a global software tech company whose focus is on solving the world’s most challenging data related problems? Are you looking for an environment where you will have freedom and independence, where communication and collaboration is fundamental?
Superb opportunity to be part of a team of likeminded individuals who have a research PhD background. The team is focused on working with high profile customers to solve a range of technical problems together with providing high quality guidance and the delivery of training. Whilst this is not a research post it has a “research” feel to it. You will have a high degree of freedom and independence in the role to select which issues you would like to work on whilst benefiting from support and collaboration from your team when needed. The role is incredibly diverse and includes activities such as: programming, architecture advice, performance tuning, training, debugging, low-level analysis of other software, including operating systems; and high-level analysis of business requirements. The overall focus is on enabling customers to be able to do things correctly from the beginning.

We are seeking individuals who have excelled in what you have achieved within academia. The majority of the team have a STEM related PhD from a top university. Although this opportunity is for a software company and in a challenging technical environment, prior programming, software development or IT experience is not essential. We are looking for people who demonstrate the ability to learn more and who have advance problem solving capabilities. You should be a technically minded and a self-motivated individual who is interested in working in a customer facing role solving practical real world problems. Any prior exposure to technologies such as: C++, Java, Unix, databases and SQL are desirable but if you do not have any of these please do not let that put you off applying.

The company provides the highest performing software solutions for: Metadata Management, Data Governance, Real Time data processing, Parallel processing and Data Engineering. Customers include many of the world’s largest organisations in financial services, telecommunications, retail, logistics, and beyond. The software platform is innovative and market leading. It enables customers to build systems to rapidly address their complex and high-volume data management challenges, and to easily build totally integrated data governance systems.

The role is very well rounded in terms of having both a technical, customer and business focus. You will work on new technologies and issues in a real world setting - it is interesting and stimulating. You get satisfaction from owning and seeing a solution through from beginning to end.

Excellent benefits package and bonus.
Hybrid working environment – min 3 days in the office per week – based near Weybridge.
If you would like to have to learn more about this please apply and we can have an initial exploratory conversation.
